Frequently Asked Questions

1.WHERE DO YOUR OUR COME FROM PRODUCTS, ARE THEY FAKE & FRESH?

We obtain our product in Australia from Australia’s premier wholesaler & in America from the world’s largest Outlet distributor. Over the past 12 years both have become known internationally for their quality& authenticity. Both wholesalers have completed various verification including authenticity by numerous international businesses including PayPal

All products are stored in temperature controlled warehouses until dispatch so they remain fresh. All products are FRESH, AUTHENTIC & NEW in factory packaging. We never deal in imitations, fakes, diluted, seconds or stale stock!

Buy with confidence as all items are 100% authentic and covered by a money back guarantee!

2.WHY DOES THE PACKAGING LOOK DIFFERENT?

While all our products are authenticity they are supplied by international wholesalers who supply many countries. Packaging may be different to your last purchase if:-

1) If the designers has update the packaging. This is done when a scent has been release a while or if the range has expanded. Recent examples of this are YSL Opium for women, Sean John Unforgiven, DKNY Women & Miss Dior Cherie.

2) When companies are sold or merge requiring products are often rebranded. Recent examples of this are Christian Dior purchased by LVMH the range was rebranded Dior, Balenciaga Rumba rebranded Ted Lapidus.

Because we obtain part of our range from the largest wholesaler in the world we are often one of the first sellers to have updated product packaging. As an authorised outlet store we also have the opportunity to access surplus stock from other markets. Considering most packaging is disposed of immediately after opening the product our smart shoppers love the savings they can unlock with these products.

We are industry specialist obtain industry news& advice on changes before consumers. Therefore we recommend if you have any questions about packaging to please contact us before drawing an assumption!

3.WHAT ARE TESTERS & SAMPLES?

TESTERS are the same 100% authentic fragrance as the product in the fancy retail packaging. They are always fresh, new & the same formula as the retail version but you don't pay for fancy retail packaging as they are designed for counters.

Testers often are packaged in plain boxes (white or brown) but sometimes are the same as the retail version.

  • Testers are normally marked "Tester" & sometimes "Not for Resale"
  • Testers may or may not include a cap.

Any tester we offer is surplus from the manufacture& not required by the retail sector. The testers are never used, opened or been on a counter.

SAMPLES contain authentic fragrances but in a test size. Because testing a fragrance on a card does not indicate how the fragrance will perform on an individual we always recommend testing the fragrance on your skin. Fragrances perform differently on everyone due to the skin Ph, oil level & scent print.

Samples are often marked "Not for Sale" or "Not Retail Version" due to their size. If the sample has a pump the vial will be oversized & not filled to the top allowing room for the pump to work. The volume will always be as marked.

4.HOW TO I COMPARING PRODUCTS?

A) Price - When comparing product prices ensure the product is the same formula, volume, age and perfume oil concentrate (ie Parfum, EDT, EDP, EDC or Splash).

B) Smell- When comparing a smell ensure the formula is the same (EDT, EDP, EDC Parfum). Designer do update fragrance formula the products should be the same version (age). This is also important because a fragrance will start to change after being opened & exposed to air after 6 months with many manufactures recommending the product be disposed of after 12 months. Another factor to consider is if the fragrance comprises of synthetic or natural oils. Unlike synthetic oils natural oils can vary slightly between batch subject to the season and the diffusing process.

The nozzle must be clean, old perfume on the nozzle will alter the smell. Clean with alcohol is required. Lastly does the scent match the notes described, is the top and middle note present? Or are citrus, woody or other base notes stronger? If the base notes appear quicker expected, the Ester (sugary notes) has started to break down drowning the top and middle notes. Ester is the first element to be affected by heat or air. Remember when comparing smells ensure that your comparison bottle is FRESH because 99.99% of all new products will be.

5.WHY DID THE PERFUME SMELL DIFFERENT IN THE SHOP?

The atmosphere of a perfume store is full of smells by definition so everything smells a bit different. Perfumes are affected by the environment in which they are experienced. This environment is made up of temperature, humidity and background smells. More importantly each perfume has a different evaporation rate. The 'top note' that you smell in the store may be different from the 'middle note' that you experience later at home. So your best bet is to try just one fragrance and wear it for the rest of the day.

6.WHY DOES THE FRAGRANCE CAN SMELL DIFFERENT ON SOMEONE ELSE OR SINCE YOU LAST WEAR IT?

We all have a different “scent print” that will influence the development of a perfume. This odour-identity is the sum total of our genes, hormones, skin chemistry, diet, medication, stress level, smoking status and most importantly skin temperature & moisture/oil level.

A person’s body chemistry & our natural smell will affect the way a scent will smell or react on the skin therefore changing the notes of the fragrance. Environmental factors like diet, mediation, stress, smoking, skin condition will also affect how a scent will smell as it blends with your natural scent. If a scent is different than expected then you need to consider has there been changes to your skin Ph, skin moisture level, medications intake including contraception’s, smoking status & short& long term diet (strong flavour foods affects fragrances just like someone who drunk a lot or eaten too much garlic/curry emits those scents after consumption, these would then in turn mix with a fragrance).

7.WHY CAN’T I SMELL MY FRAGRANCE AFTER A WHILE?

The sense of smell becomes quickly fatigued classically cutting off within minutes. Because you can’t move away from your own perfume, you become used to it. You may think it has disappeared, but others can still smell it. Have a few friends test the scent then go outside 5-10 minutes to clear your sense of smell then check. Repeat if required.

You need to consider that perfumes perform differently on everyone due to our own individual body chemistry & this may be a factor in how the fragrance is performing on you compared to others. This is a common misunderstanding/complaint but the explanation is well documented, a simple search online will confirm.

8.HOW CAN I MAKE THE PERFUME LAST LONGER?

Perfumes are volatile liquids, having the normal characteristics of any liquid, including evaporation. This process is facilitated by the heat of the body & the body is warmest where there is good blood circulation closest to the surface of the skin. Therefore the warmer the skin the more evaporation resulting in shorter fragrance life. To slow down this evaporation & make the scent last longer it is recommended to apply an unscented or scent matching body lotion/oil on your pulse points before applying the fragrance. Other factors which influence a fragrances performance are body chemistry, skin PH, is the skin oily or dry & hormones.

TIPS: Apply a thin layer of Vaseline or olive oil to your skin at your pulse points, and spray your perfume over it after a shower. Your pores are open and your body is fully moisturized. Let the perfume air dry. DO NOT rub ie rub your wrist together this will break the aroma lessening its longevity.

AREAS TO APPLY: Your temples, the base of your throat, navel, between your breasts (or shoulder for the men), your wrists and the bend of your elbow and back of your knees are all the pulse points which you should spray your perfume. But not behind your ears as the gland can alter the scent.

If you’re around smoke and like to spray your clothes directly please take caution as some perfume oils can stain.

Do as Estee Lauder use to you, spray a small amount of the fragrance into the air in front of you then walk through it. Your whole body will be immersed in a light spray of scent. She also sprayed her hair or hair brush then brush your hair! This can work well for some hair types.

Remember: - Always read the product labels for safety instructions.

9.WHAT IS EDC, EDT & EDP?

Perfume consists of natural or synthetic fragrance oil extracts diluted in water or high-grade alcohol. The difference lays in the amount or concentration of oils in the fragrance. The higher the concentration of oils, the longer the fragrance will last.

· Eau Fraiche (Usually 3% or less perfume oil)

· Eau de cologne - EDC (2 - 5% perfume oil) last approx. 1hr

· Eau de toilette - EDT (6 - 15% perfume oil) used for everyday should last approx. 2-3hrs

· Eau de parfum - EDP (10 - 22% perfume oil) heavier should last approx. 3-6hrs

· Soie de Parfum (15 - 18% perfume oil)

· PARFUM (15 - 25% -known's as Extract or Extrait) should last approx. 6-8hrs

· Perfume oil (15-30% perfume oil)

All these times are averages only and dependent on the individual's skin& fragrance formula!

*What is the difference between a splash and a spray? There is absolutely no difference in the fragrance. The difference is in the application only. However, a spray bottle, being ostensibly sealed all the time, may actually have a longer shelf life. Making the decision between spray and splash is entirely a matter of personal preference.

*Why do some men wear Cologne, and others prefer to wear After Shave? Cologne's fragrance will generally last much longer than After Shave. However, many men choose to wear both. The fragrance lasts longer, you can use less of each, and you get the facial benefit of an After Shave.

*What are the differences between After Shave Lotion, After Shave Gel, and After Shave Balm? After Shave Lotion will usually sting as well as help close the pores after shaving, After Shave Balm is actually soothing to the skin. After Shave Gel also soothes the skin, but cools the skin as well and relieves razor burn.

10.WHAT IS FRAGRANCE LIFE ?

The composition of a fragrance is made of many different ingredients, each of which varies in scent and staying power. Different ingredients come to life at different stages. The industry refers to the stages as notes. The top note is the initial impact of a scent on the sense of smell, the middle note then develops. The base note or foundation provides the most lasting effects of a fragrance. The scent evolves exposing the accords of the scent as the notes through the life of the scent. The time each note last varies subject on the person wearing it & on each fragrances composition.

11.HOW SHOULD I  STORE MY FRAGRANCES?

A scent once open will start to deteriorate after 6 months, it’s a volatile liquid, industry experts recommend replacing after a year. Correct stored should make it last longer but it will alter over time. The ideal storage conditions are at room temperature or below, not exposed to air, out of direct sunlight (dark closet or box) not in the bathroom as water vapour will affect the perfume. Avoid direct contact with air like splash bottles & consider a atomizer. When using fragrance from a stopper ensure that the stopper is cleaned with a lint free clean cloth before returning to the bottle.

12.I THINK MY FRAGRANCE IS STALE, HOW DO I KNOW?

Fragrance should be stored in air tight containers in dark temperature control environments. A fragrance may become stale if exposed to heat, light, moisture or air. Once opened a fragrance compositions starts to alter after approx. 6mths. If a fragrance is stale the liquid may change colour or cause skin irritations. It may be thicker, too oily or the initial notes smell sour. If there aren’t any visual signs, a sniff-test may be conducted but often considered unreliable due to how a scent develops its layers. To conduct a sniff-test spray the perfume on blotting paper or non scent test fabric, then wait 10-15 minutes. The top note will development, 15-60 minutes heart to appear & 20min-2hrs base note for the scent to develop (times vary for each scent). If there are no visual sign & no significant difference with sniff test ie it does not smell sour. Then the fragrance is not stale the concern is be caused by other factors (refer point 4)

13.I THINK MY FRAGRANCE IS OPENED, IT'S NOT WRAPPED IN PLASTIC?

Whilst all our products are NEW, not all are provided sealed or boxed with some skin care products unboxed. There are 2 reasons why a product may not be sealed:

1) 10% of all perfumes are not sealed in plastic by the manufacture for either design or cost structure reasons. Here are just a few examples of products supplied unsealed: CK One, Guerlain Ldylle, Joop Original, Paris Hilton, Jovan, Relvon Charlie, Kylie doesn't seal or box her lotions. The factory’s decision to supply a product unsealed does not indicate the product is opened or has been used.

2) As an outlet store codes are de-activated (see point 13) on occasion this requires the plastic to be removed. The product will never be used & is still new.

If you suspect the product is "OPENED" or "NOT NEW" please confirm how the factory provides this particular product to determine if it has been opened. We only seal new products in their original packaging as supplied by the wholesaler.

14.MY FRAGRANCE WONT SPRAY, HOW DO I FIX THE NOZZLE?

It is very rare for a nozzle not to work but it can happen if the nozzle becomes clogged due to how a bottle is stored (temp & position) & used, or the tube may have come lose during transit & general use. Below are a few tips on how to fix nozzle failure, same tips may not be applicable depending on the type of nozzle used by the manufacture.

Ways to fix your nozzle:

1) Look at the tip of the nozzle to ensure that it is still intact and nothing has come lose.

2) Perfume can clog or dry in the nozzle try running the tip under very hot water (or soaking in very hot water for approx 5 min’s) then use a pin to pry loose and unclog. Press the nozzle tip gently down on the top of the perfume bottle to reattach. You may need to pump the perfume bottle a few times to get the perfume back to the top of the bottle.

3) Remove the tip of the nozzle if it will not spray and soak a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol. Apply the alcohol to the interior top of the plastic tube and let it sit for 10 to 15 seconds. Use a pin to slide down the center of the tube to remove any built-up gunk that may exist in the tube. This tube is what feeds the perfume from the bottle, to the tip.

4) Use tweezers to pull the plastic tube upward if it will not connect to the nozzle of the tip properly. The tip should snap onto the plastic tube; however, if it does not then there is a manufacturing fault because the tube is too short/low in the bottle.

5) If the nozzle is not blocked and the tube is fitted correct but the scent still won’t spray then the spring in may be faulty or the sprayer inside the tip may be off or uneven, all that can be done is to replace the cap.

15.WHY IS THE LABEL /CODE DEACTIVIATED?

We are an outlet store & like other outlet stores our product are identified as discounted to stop fraudulent returns to department store. Similar to factory outlets & designer items on sale elsewhere (eg cloths, shoes etc) where tags are cut, marked or removed the same occurs with perfumes. Department stores wanted exclusivity to the designer perfume market but to create competition & expand the market certain security measures were put in place by the distributors. Fragrances impacted have the code de-activated or removed by the distributor prior to wholesaling. This security measure is in place to protect the high street retail industry, particular the department stores from dishonest buyers, whilst allowing smaller independent retailers to access a large range & create competition otherwise not possible.

By de-activating the code it stop buyers purchasing AUTHENTIC fragrances from cheaper outlets then returning to departments store like Myer & David Jones for profit. Regrettable previous fraudulent buyer activity has lead to this timely exercise. We don't want our business to be any part of any buyer deception or attempted fraud, therefore support this practise. The code de-activation does not in any way negate the authenticity of our products. If anything it proves that our products are genuine because the department stores do not care about fake goods. The objective of this process is to stop our products from being part of this dishonest practice whilst having access to these perfumes which would otherwise not be possible, ultimately providing greater competition for all consumers.
