How to choose the right oil paintings for your home/office?
Over the course of thousands of years any art fanatic has always regarded original oil paintings as a prized possession. From the auction house to famous art galleries, to online art retailers oil paintings have always been an extremely popular choice, which are often bought and treasured by families for hundreds of years. Online canvas art stores have made fine art more readily available to the average consumer; no longer is collecting art an exclusive hobby for those privileged enough to be an active member of the elite art circuit.
1. Decide upon which room you want to hang the canvas art. Rooms that are very minimalist in design, in a pale neutral colour suit bright pieces of artwork. Whereas rooms, which contain lots of ornate furnishings and are decorated in a bright colour scheme should have artwork, which is simple, hung on the walls. Simple designs will not compete for attention, are easier going on the eye and will not take the focus away from your favourite pieces of furniture.
2. Where most of the decorative things should be used in proportion to your living room size, paintings can be all large or all small but then you have to be a little cautious about their numbers and placing position. For example, a large painting will look good in both- large as well as small living room but then you must hang only one large painting on a wall of a small room. In large living room, if your wall is large enough to accommodate two large paintings, you can hang them even side by side. You may also use some other decorative in between them such as a wall sconce between two identical paintings. When using small paintings, you can always hang them in line one after other- just choose to match them.
3. Choose paintings that compliment the style of your home or the room. Decorate your space with modern art if it is a simple style room. You will notice that this room is full of vitality. While if your room is a European or classical style, decorate it with realist art, such as portraits, landscapes which absolutely will add magnificence and elegance to your space.
4. Choose the right colours. The basic idea should be to create a contrast between the dominant colours of your walls and those of your new painting. But the colours of the painting should be in coordinate with the wall and furniture. If the furniture is deep and dignified, the oil painting you choose should be the coordinated classical and simple but elegant style. If the decor and furniture of your room is light and simple, you’d better choose the lively, soft, modern or abstract style.
