Lead and zinc are two metals that often used in jewelry market. Zinc is safe to our health, but lead is toxic and can cause serious health problems to the wearer. As a reliable and responsible beading supplier, we strive to do our best to provide safe materials to our customers. We are proud that all of our metal products are made of 100% Lead Free zinc alloy. If you find some sellers' products are more beautiful and cheaper than ours, please be cautious of their products, because according to our experience for many years in jewelry business, these products are made of lead alloy.

We thought it might be helpful to include a bit more information to let you easily distinguish between safe zinc based jewelry and unsafe lead based jewelry.
Lead and zinc seem almost the same to appearance, but there are huge difference between their health effects and slight difference between their surface and price. Lead is softer than zinc, so it can be molded more easily than zinc. Therefore lead is used to form more intricate shapes and molded much faster, which result in a much lower production cost. The fact that lead is much less expensive to buy is just another reason those products are often less expensive than safer products manufactured with zinc.

To identify the two metal:
First, Feel the weight: Zinc is lighter than Lead

Second, Feel the surface: Zinc is not quite as smooth as lead

("1" is lead alloy, "2" is zinc alloy)

It is crucial to your health to know what you are wearing, be sure to choose the safe items. Another extremely safe option is to use Sterling Silver items as silver is also a safe material.

To Sum Up:
1. Our products are guaranteed to be lead free, they're safe to wear, and you can always feel confident to shop with us
2. Some sellers are providing unsafe lead alloy products to make more profits, because the lead-containing beads are more beautiful. BUT lead is harmful to our health. We strongly recommend you only deal with reliable suppliers who disclose what metals they use in the manufacture of their products. As always, your health and safety is our primary concern. :)
